Chris Koos, town mayor, explains he formulated the EVTown idea after gaining inspiration from a meeting with Mitsubishi executives. "Normal EVTown is a community that is embracing new technology in an environmentally sound way," he says. "It is a way of imagining the future and Normal is that future,"¹

In addition to the MiEV models, the automaker is helping to install conveniently located charging stations around the town. Efforts such as these in EVTown are so successful largely because they have the strong backing of the community. Government officials, local business officials, stakeholders and many other town members believe that electric vehicles offer undeniable benefits to both the environment and the community.

Positioned as the "Most Likable Car on the Planet," the Mitsubishi i is also traveling up and down the Pacific coast and allowing users to get a first-hand experience of the game-changing EV technology.
