That's right. By mid-summer, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV will be well on its way to becoming the most widely circulated EV in the U.S. Why is this so? Company officials attribute the date change to increasing competition. With a few other electrics floating around the market, Mitsubishi wants to ensure its model creates the biggest spark. Of course, with miles per gallon equivalents marked at 126 city/99 highway/112 combined and an electric drive range of 62-miles, we hardly think generating a spark will be a problem.

With best-in-class fuel-efficiency at an affordable price, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV is positioned to be the most popular, mainstream electric available in the U.S. What's more, Osamu Masuko, President of Mitsubishi, has hinted at a larger electric based of the Mitsubishi Mirage which would hit the road by mid-2013. This could further solidify the automaker's title of EV king within our market.
